Week of February 21st, 2017
Like driving through
the back of the school to leave the parking lot? Starting week of Feb 27th until the end of the school year the
back of the school will be closed/barricaded for students to drive through
after school from 3:30-3:45pm when leaving the parking lot. This is for the safety of
the students exiting Door K to get on their buses and for the bus traffic that
is entering by Door D in the front of the building in the bus lane. Thank
you for your cooperation.
Auditions for the
spring play, Harvey, will be held on February 27 and 28. If you would like
to check out a perusal script for 24 hours, please see Mr. Kerr in room 111.
The spring production of Harvey is in need of a stage manager/assistant
director. If you are interested or have questions, please see Mr. Kerr in room

Baseball Tryouts for Sophomores through Seniors will begin Monday,
February 27, from 6:30am-8:00am in the North Gym. A clearance slip from
the Athletic Director must be on file before tryouts begin. Any
questions, see Coach Beaty in the math office.

Girls Soccer? Tryouts are right after school on Monday (Feb. 27) and Tuesday (Feb. 28) at GAME TIME GYM! Make sure you
have your physical turned into the Athletic Director ASAP! See Coach
Walker or Coach Piepenbrink if you have questions. SEE YOU THERE!!
Juniors and Seniors who have taken 6 semesters of
Social Studies and earned a 4.7 GPA in those courses may be eligible for the
RHO KAPPA Social Studies National Honor Society. Pick up an application outside
the social studies office door 1004 or from a social studies teacher.
Applications are due by March 1. If you were inducted last year (seniors)
and wish to order cords, see Mrs. Freeman or Mrs. Unsbee.
PBIS Reminder: Hallways are for movement in the
mornings before school. If groups want to gather in groups, then should meet
in the Cafe or Atrium. Remember we are in a school building and should
not be laying on floors or blocking the middle of hallways...specifically in
our freshman hallway area. Thanks for helping us with this Way of the Wildcat
Attention Normal West Students: Anyone interested in
participating in morning weight lifting, speed, and agility training. We will
be holding a BFS training sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
mornings from 7:00 to 8:00 A.M. This would give you an opportunity to
train with instructors from Sports Enhancement in the weight room as well work
on your speed and agility. There is no cost and all are welcome. If you have

The NCWHS Football
GridIron Club is taking applications from graduating senior football players to
be considered for a one-time College Scholarship. Two $1,000 scholarships
will be awarded. Application materials are due by April 1, 2017: no later
than 10 PM Central Standard Time. Applications and additional
information are available on the Normal West athletic website and on the Normal
West football website.
